Patient Complaint: Costochondritis
“When did you first come to this office?
I first came into the office on May 26, 2004 after suffering from a severe attack of costochondritis.
What was your particular condition? When did it begin? How long have you had it? What caused it? How severe was it?
On April 30, 2004 I was hospitalized due to severe chest pains, which were similar to a heart attack in women. While there I was given a full battery of tests to include a full stress test. After twenty-three hours in the hospital, I was released with the prognosis stated above.
Were you ever treated by any physicians such as orthopedist, neurologist, physical therapist, and/or another Chiropractor?
Only once was I treated by a physical therapist due to a car accident.
What were your results?
The results were not very good after three to four months of therapy; therefore, I stopped going.
Who referred you or how did you find out about this office?
My best friend Sara referred me after the incident in April.
What results have you had?
The results have been phenomenal. No matter what's going on, I make my appointments because my body now lets me know when I need to be adjusted. My experience at the Raya Clinic has been filled with emotional and spiritual growth. Dr. Raya and her staff have helped me with dealing with grief even after four years of my parents' deaths. Dr. Raya reminds me of Helen Keller, the miracle worker. Thank goodness for people like all of you.”

Patient Complaint: Back Injury
“When did you first come to this office?
May 2004 after seeing a physical therapist.
What was your particular condition? When did it begin? How long have you had it? What caused it? How severe was it?
I fell and injured my back (three compression fractures). This was the worst pain in my life. My doctor sent me to a physical therapist. I did this for five months with no relief.
Were you ever treated by any physicians such as orthopedist, neurologist, physical therapist, and/or another Chiropractor?
My doctor sent me to a physical therapist. It was not a good decision.
What were your results?
None. I remember thinking if I have to be in this kind of pain forever, I just don't think I want to live.
Who referred you or how did you find out about this office?
A friend suggested I see a chiropractor or acupuncturist. I looked in the phone book and saw that Raya Clinic did both.
What results have you had?
Dr. Raya gave me back my life. I am sure she is not aware of all she's done for me. I can do almost everything I did before. ”

Patient Complaint: Delayed Motor Skills
“I would like to share my story with the hope that other parents will bring their children to see Dr. Raya and benefit from chiropractic care as my child has.
I first discovered the Raya Clinic while surfing the internet. My daughter Julitza had delayed motor skills. She only began crawling when she was one and a half years old and began walking when she was two years old. She suffered from a learning disability, seizures, a lazy eye, balance problems, the inability to walk a straight line, put her legs together, and speak in full sentences. I had taken her to the top neurologist in Hartford who identified that Julitza did struggle with delayed motor skills but found nothing in an MRI or EEG. I also brought her to an eye specialist who tried to treat her lazy eye. The neurologist suggested that she participate in physical therapy activities at school. These activities seemed to show some improvement in her motor skills coordination and balance but the progress was slow and slight. I was really sad because like any parent I want my daughter to be like other kids.
On May 22, 2002, I brought Julitza to see Dr. Raya for the first time. Julitza's adjustment was quick and easy. The next time we went to physical therapy I did not mention that I had taken Julitza to see Dr. Raya. That session of physical therapy was the best that Julitza had ever had. The physical therapist said that she noticed a marked improvement in Julitza's ability to complete visual motor tasks and maintain balance.
A few weeks ago Julitza had her regular appointment with her neurologist. Again, I did not mention that I had taken Julitza to see Dr. Raya. The neurologist was pleasantly surprised to find that Julitza's motor skills had improved so much. At her last eye examination her eye specialist said that her eye is no longer considered a lazy eye. From both her neurologist and her eye specialist she had a completely normal assessment for the first time ever.
Julitza has already met two of her physical therapy goals that were set in May for this year!
Goal #9: Julitza will improve her visual motor skills in order to improve writing tasks within her current classroom.
Goal #10: Julitza will improve strength, endurance, and balance for safe participation in her school setting.
Before Julitza saw Dr. Raya she would only scribble all over the page in one color when drawing and coloring. But now she colors perfectly staying inside the lines and choosing many different bright colors! And now she won't stop talking! This is SUCCESS!
I was thinking about going away for the summer but because of the success that we have had with Dr. Raya I have decided to stay in this area for the summer to continue with Julitza's chiropractic care with Dr. Raya.”

Patient Complaint: Migraines
“When did you first come to this office?
I first started coming to the clinic in April of 2000.
What was your particular condition? When did it begin? How long have you had it? What caused it? How severe was it?
I came to Dr. Raya suffering from migraines. They had started about six months prior to my first visit here. I was getting migraines about once or twice a week after I started treatment with Dr. Raya. I only get them maybe once a month now!
Were you ever treated by any physicians such as orthopedist, neurologist, physical therapist, and/or another Chiropractor?
I was treated by a neurologist who gave me Imitrex to treat the migraines, and a rheumatologist who diagnosed me with lupus.
What were your results?
The medication alleviated the headaches but did not stop the frequency.
Who referred you or how did you find out about this office?
I had brought my sister-in-law here while visiting because she wasn't feeling well and I was very impressed by the office and staff.
What results have you had?
I feel much better using their maintenance program. I feel that I have been suffering much less and I definitely feel healthier, because I also suffer from the muscular pains of lupus.
